BIOGRAPHICAL DETAILS
Dr.
Barbara Sinclair is Director of Advanced Postgraduate Taught Courses in
the School of Education at the University of Nottingham, and Director of
the MA in English Language Teaching. Her research interests and publications
relate to the philosophical and theoretical nature of autonomy in language
learning, practical approaches to its development, including the roles of
and relationships between the teacher, learner and teaching materials, approaches
to curriculum and task design, and the evaluation of autonomy. She
first visited UAE in March 2000 to give a series of talks on learner autonomy
at the Higher Colleges of Technology.
