Tactile Tasks and Technical Tips 5
If it's April
in Abu Dhabi, it's TTTT time! The TTTT is our signature event which
has proved popular all around the region. The idea for the TTTT grew
from the fact that 5 years ago most workshops seemed to be talks,
discussions and demonstrations, rather than hands-on, practical, 'have-a-go'
sessions. In addition, we wanted to promote new and novel activities
for independent learning. At that time, computers in schools were
not as common as now, so we also offered basic computing workshops
to help teachers get started with technology as well as 'totally tecchi'
sessions for enthusiasts led by computing pioneers and buffs. Another
innovative aspect was the inclusion of student presenters in the program.
This year's line up includes: podcasting, advanced blogging, the teacher's
tec toolkit, the manipulation of graphics, Moodle, and plenty of practical
classroom-based games and tasks for all levels and ages in the tactile
strand.
